Information & Fees
Why choose online counselling?
Online counselling makes therapy more accessible, flexible, and convenient – wherever you are in the UK. Without the need to travel, sessions fit more easily around your day, and being in a familiar, comfortable space can help you feel more at ease. You are also free to choose a counsellor who feels right for you, rather than being limited by location. Whether you join from home or any other quiet, private space, attending from a place of your choosing can help make counselling feel a little less daunting.
How does online counselling work?
Sessions take place via Zoom. Ahead of your session you will receive a zoom link – just click on the link at your scheduled time to join the session. You will need a quiet and private space, a reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.
What age group do you work with?
I work with adults aged 18 and older.
How many sessions will I need?
It is very much your choice as to how long you stay in therapy, and usually depends on what you hope to get from counselling and what you would like to explore.
Sessions can be short-term and focused on specific issues, or longer-term for deeper work or long-held patterns, depending on what feels helpful for you. We will check in on how things are going and adjust accordingly.
What are the fees per session?
Sessions last 50 minutes and the fee is £60 per session. These are generally weekly, held on a mutually agreed day and time to provide you with a consistent, regular space.
Fees are payable by bank transfer 24 hours before each session. Please note, payments must be up to date for sessions to continue.
What is the cancellation policy?
Should you need to cancel an appointment, please give at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made after this time will be charged at the full session fee.
Is counselling confidential?
What is discussed in session is confidential. It’s important to acknowledge, however, that there may be some circumstances where confidentiality cannot be maintained, such as when there is serious risk of harm to yourself or others.
Additionally, as part of good professional practice, I discuss my work in clinical supervision. I work in accordance with BACP ethical standards.
We will take time in our first session to go through confidentiality together.
How do I prepare for the first session?
It can be helpful to find a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable and won’t be disturbed for the duration of the session. It is also worth checking your device is charged ahead of time.
Before our first session, I will send you an assessment form and a counselling agreement for you to look over. We will go through both of these together when we meet.
Booking an Initial Consultation
I hope my website has been helpful in giving you a sense of how I work. If you have any questions, or would like to explore whether counselling with me would be a good fit for you, I offer a free 20 minute consultation. It is a relaxed conversation to see whether working together feels right for you.
